Party Planning: A fun confetti themed birthday party!

Updated: Jan 16, 2022

The first party I planned for 2022 was my youngest daughters’s 5th birthday. Let me tell you I cannot believe we are already to her 5th birthday and it makes me nostalgic for her baby years.

For this birthday party I chose the local gymnastics center for her and her friends to play and celebrate. Our town doesn’t offer much in the way of child friendly party venues and even less with built-in entertainment. Honestly, I don’t know how our mothers threw back yard parties and kept a group of rowdy soda filled kids entertained.

The lobby of the gymnastics center is painted a medium gray and accented with bright green. Not a desirable pallet for a children's party. To brighten the room, I chose a fun confetti theme after a quick Pinterest search. I shopped my to go, Amazon, for disposable party supplies in the confetti theme. You guys know my infinity for easy to use and easier to clean up party supplies. I mixed and matched pieces from different brands to create a look that matched my vision. I’ll link everything I can below.

They set up one long table in the center of room lined with black molded plastic chairs for. I draped it with a busy multi colored table covering and scalloped table runner. I set the table with mismatched solid color dinner plates and napkins, and coordinating confetti patterned cups and party hats.

PinchTwist balloons in Easley, South Carolina worked their magic to create several bright balloon centerpieces and a 5ft garland for the party. The balloon decorations took the confetti theme over the top and went along to break up the gray walls. I can’t say enough good things about their service and how great they were to work with. If you live in the upstate consider them for your next event. Here is a link to their website: https://www.pinchtwist.com/ Tell Dana and her team I sent you!!

Kathy and Co. also in Easley, South Carolina knocked in out of the park with the most adorable gymnastics themed cake. The cake flavor was traditional vanilla and it was delicious. I regret not getting a better picture of the cake because it was so pretty however, I was busy being present in the moment and that I don’t regret. Believe it or not, all the pictures from the party can from my husband! He made sure to snap a few before the guests arrived and I so appreciate him for that.

After 2 hours of bouncing around, eating pizza and cake we sent her friends home with paper goodie bags filled with cloud slime, ring pops, pop-it fidget bracelets, bubble gum, glitter crayons, and glow sticks! It was a great day and fun first party for 2022.
